Every year from September 15 to October 15, the United States celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. For many, it is a season of festivals, family gatherings, and cultural pride.

For us at Variedades Tere and Tere Fashion, Hispanic Heritage Month carries a special weight. It is more than a date on the calendar — it is a living reminder of the values that built our business: family, resilience, faith, and authenticity.

Why Hispanic Heritage Month Matters

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15 to honor the independence days of several Latin American countries, including Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It continues through October 15, highlighting the deep influence of Hispanic culture in the United States.

This celebration is important because it reminds us that Hispanic culture is not confined to one country or one generation. It is a thread woven into the fabric of America. It honors the stories of immigrants, families, and entrepreneurs who worked hard, overcame challenges, and created opportunities for the next generation.

As a Hispanic-owned, family-run business, we are proud to be part of this tradition. Our journey reflects the same resilience and creativity that Hispanic Heritage Month was created to honor.

How Variedades Tere Lives These Values

When our first location in Chamblee, Georgia opened, it was not just about selling clothing or accessories — it was about creating a space where people could feel connected to their culture. From the beginning, Variedades Tere has been about more than transactions; it has been about building community and preserving identity.

Even during challenging times, including the pandemic, our focus never wavered. We leaned on faith, adapted to change, and found strength in the support of our customers. That perseverance reflects the very spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month: holding fast to your roots while finding ways to grow.

How Tere Fashion Carries It Forward

With Tere Fashion, we extended that mission to a boutique brand that celebrates culture through fashion. Our decision to focus on authentic boots — from brands like El General, Workman, Caribú, and El Canelo — was intentional. These are not just products on a shelf. They are symbols of tradition, artistry, and heritage.

By Launching Tere Fashion we are not replacing Variedades Tere — we are expanding it. Variedades Tere LLC continues to serve the community through our physical storefronts in Chamblee and Duluth, while Tere Fashion represents the boutique and online side of our business. This transformation allows us to share the same roots and authenticity with customers both in person and across the U.S.

Boots are more than footwear; they are a statement of pride, whether worn for work, celebrations, or everyday life. Each pair connects the past with the present, reminding us that culture can be carried with every step.

Celebrating With Our Community

Hispanic Heritage Month is also about community. At Variedades Tere and Tere Fashion, we see our customers not just as shoppers, but as family. Every time someone chooses authentic products from us, they are helping keep traditions alive.

We celebrate not only by sharing our own story, but by being part of the stories of others — families finding the right boots for a celebration, workers finding durable footwear, or someone gifting a piece of culture to a loved one. These moments are why we do what we do.

Our Ongoing Commitment

For us, Hispanic Heritage Month is a reminder to continue:

  • Keeping our products authentic.

  • Remaining family-centered.

  • Serving our community with heart.

  • Honoring traditions while embracing the future.

We know our journey is just one of many. By staying faithful to our values and sharing our culture through fashion, we hope to inspire others to carry their heritage proudly — not only during Hispanic Heritage Month, but every day.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we give thanks to God, to our family, and to the community that continues to support us. This month reminds us that our culture is not only worth remembering — it is worth wearing, living, and passing on to the next generation.

Celebrate with us in-store at our Chamblee and Duluth locations, or discover our collection online at Tere Fashion. Together, let’s honor our roots and elevate our style.
