How It All Started
The story of Variedades Tere began long before the first store opened its doors. I am a proud mother of six children, and my greatest motivation has always been them. Entrepreneurship runs in my family — I grew up watching my mother work tirelessly every day in Mexico, selling fruits, corn, papaya, and other products she grew or bought to resell. From her, I learned the meaning of dedication, responsibility, and faith.
As a young woman, I started helping her sell, and over time, I realized how much I enjoyed connecting with people through business. When I saw that fruit would spoil quickly and lead to losses, I began selling sodas and snacks, and eventually found success in products that lasted longer — like shoes, clothing, and perfumes. That small change in direction planted the foundation for what would one day become Variedades Tere.
I began selling in 2006, but progress was slow. From 2007 to 2013, I worked full-time at Willy’s, seven days a week, while supporting my family and saving for my dream. In 2009, I brought my children from Mexico to the United States — a moment that changed my life and fueled my determination to create something lasting for them.
In 2013, an opportunity came when someone offered me a small space inside a supermarket to sell various products — phone credit, jewelry, hats, perfumes, and more. Little by little, I expanded my offerings to include Colombian jeans and handbags, and that’s when Variedades Tere LLC officially began to grow.
In 2016, I found a better location and rented my own space — a turning point that allowed me to reach more customers and share my love for Latin fashion. It wasn’t always easy; between 2017 and 2019, I faced many challenges and almost had to close. But with faith, perseverance, and the support of my community, I overcame those difficult years.
The pandemic brought even more uncertainty, but instead of giving up, we adapted. I found new suppliers, strengthened customer relationships, and continued to grow. By 2023, I opened Variedades Tere 2, marking a new chapter in this journey.
Out of that growth came Tere Fashion — our signature line that represents the evolution of our brand. Tere Fashion focuses on authentic Mexican boots and Latin-inspired fashion, merging tradition with modern style. It’s a reflection of my heritage, my family, and every challenge I’ve overcome.
Today, Variedades Tere and Tere Fashion stand as symbols of faith, culture, and perseverance. We are proud to serve our community in Chamblee and Duluth, Georgia, offering products that carry the heart of Mexico and Latin America in every detail.
I thank God for every step of this journey and for the people who continue to believe in us. This business isn’t just about fashion — it’s about roots, resilience, and family.
